WinBook TW 801 Windows 10 upgrade fail update
To finish up with the WinBook TW 801 Windows 10 upgrade fail adventure.
The upgrade to Window 10 did not go as expected or well. My WinBook was
useless without a keyboard and mouse attach to it. Touch function did not work.
Tried reinstalling Windows 10 but nothing would change a lot of the drivers were missing.
I turned to the Micro Center online support to see if they
had any answers as was told it would have to be re-imaged.
So on to my local Micro Center store. On arriving I was told by a customer service rep
that there was a charge of $100.00 to re-image my WinBook to which I said no thank you
and decided to go back home to try and re-install either Windows 8.1 or Windows 10.
At the last moment I decide to talk to a manager to see what Micro Center’s policy is
regarding my issue of bricking my tablet performing a clean install of Windows 10.
I must say the manager I spoke was understanding and completely sympathetic to my problem.
The store manager went so far as to offer an exchange of my broken WinBook to a brand new Winbook
even though my tablet was well out of warranty. I have had this kind of experience before at Micro Center
and their standing behind their merchandise. Kudos to Micro Center customer service and thank you.
